Night Doula Services in Raleigh, NC

Sleep-deprived nights are hard. Our trained Raleigh night doulas are in your home overnight — handling feeds, soothing your newborn, and giving you the uninterrupted rest you need to heal and thrive.

What Is a Night Doula?

A night doula — sometimes called an overnight doula or newborn care specialist — is a trained postpartum professional who comes to your home during the nighttime hours (typically 10 pm–6 am) to care for your newborn while you sleep.

Unlike a babysitter or night nurse, a night doula brings specialized knowledge in newborn feeding, infant soothing, sleep guidance, and postpartum recovery. At Babies & Beyond Doulas, our Raleigh-based overnight doulas are trained through ProDoula and other agencies and have supported hundreds of Triangle families since 2010.

Whether you've just brought your baby home from the hospital or you're three months postpartum and running on empty, a night doula can be a game-changer for your family's wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know about hiring a night doula in Raleigh.

Your night doula arrives at your home in the evening (usually around 10 pm) and stays until morning (around 6 am). During that time they care for your newborn — feeding, burping, changing diapers, and soothing — so you can sleep uninterrupted. They also offer guidance on feeding techniques, infant soothing strategies, and answer any questions you have about your baby's development or your own recovery.

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there's a meaningful difference. A "night nurse" is a casual term that implies nursing credentials — most overnight newborn care providers are not registered nurses. A night doula is a trained postpartum professional with expertise in newborn care, infant feeding, and postpartum support. Our doulas at Babies & Beyond are trained through ProDoula and other agencies, with years of hands-on experience in the Triangle.

Most families benefit from overnight support starting from the first days home from the hospital. Sleep deprivation sets in quickly, and having support from the beginning helps prevent the cumulative exhaustion that makes the newborn phase so overwhelming. That said, it's never too late — even at six weeks or three months postpartum, overnight doula support can reset your family's sleep and wellbeing. We recommend booking early, as availability in Raleigh fills up fast.

Absolutely — many of our clients are breastfeeding. Your doula will bring your baby to you for feeds, help with latch, and handle all the settling and diaper changes around the nursing session so you can go right back to sleep. If you're pumping, your doula can manage bottles overnight. We tailor our care entirely around your feeding plan.

We serve families throughout the Raleigh metro area, including Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Holly Springs, Clayton, Durham, and Chapel Hill. If you're outside these areas, contact us — we do our best to accommodate families across the Triangle and beyond.

A single overnight visit (8 hours) starts at $344. Multi-week packages range from $6,048 for our Rest and Recovery package (3 nights/week for 6 weeks) up to $18,720 for full nightly coverage over 12 weeks. Hourly custom arrangements are also available at $39–$42/hr. We also offer a discount for paying in full — contact us for details.
