A birth doula is a trained labor support professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a birthing person and their partner throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Before labor, your doula meets with you to understand your birth preferences, answer questions, and help you prepare a birth plan. During labor, they remain by your side — offering comfort techniques, positioning guidance, encouragement, and a calm, experienced presence. After birth, they assist with initial breastfeeding, help you process your birth experience, and ensure you feel supported in those first critical hours.
